Understanding the Quiz Selection Criteria
The results generated by this algorithm are not based on aesthetic preferences, but on strict, binding zootechnical parameters. The Poodle is divided by the FCI standard into four distinct sizes (Toy, Miniature, Medium, and Standard). Each variety shares the exact same psychological makeup but presents different physical responses to its surrounding environment.
Structural Variants and Biological Constraints:
- The Fragility of the Toy: With a height at the withers under 28 cm, the skeleton and joint apparatus of the Toy variety are extremely delicate. For this reason, uncontrolled interaction with young children can lead to involuntary impact trauma.
- The Athleticism of the Standard: The Standard Poodle exceeds 45 cm and can reach 60 cm at the withers. It retains the ancestral instinct of a water retriever and requires a structured physical activity routine that cannot be replaced by merely staying indoors or in a small backyard.
- Joint Load on Stairs: Climbing stairs multiple times a day represents a risk factor for developing spinal and joint pathologies in larger sizes, whereas with smaller sizes, the owner can easily intervene by carrying the dog.
